Deputy
An individual appointed by the Court of Protection to make decisions on behalf of someone who no longer possesses the capacity to make those decisions by themselves.
Court of Protection
A Court that makes decisions on financial or welfare matters for individuals who no longer possess the capacity to make those decisions themselves.
Lasting Power of Attorney
A document that allows an individual (a Donor) to appoint one or more people (Attorneys) to act on their behalf in financial or health-related matters if they lose mental capacity.
Statutory Will
A Will made by the Court of Protection on behalf of an individual who no longer possesses the capacity to make it themselves.
Security Bond
